UAE E-Invoicing Readiness
UAE e-invoicing is coming in 2027. Businesses will issue and receive structured electronic invoices through an Accredited Service Provider (ASP), with invoice data reported to the Federal Tax Authority. MB&A CPAs helps you get your invoicing, accounting system and VAT data ready before your go-live date.
Key dates
- Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more: go live from 1 January 2027.
- Other businesses: appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 31 March 2027 and go live from 1 July 2027.
- Government entities: go live from 1 October 2027.
Dates are as announced by the UAE Ministry of Finance at the time of writing; we confirm the current timeline in your review.
How we help you get ready
- Readiness review: how you invoice today, which systems you use, and the data and VAT treatment on your invoices.
- Fix the data: customer and supplier records, tax registration numbers, VAT codes and invoice templates.
- System and ASP fit: check that your accounting system (Odoo, Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books or other) can connect to an Accredited Service Provider, and help you choose one.
- Process and controls: who issues, approves and corrects invoices, and how credit notes are handled.
- Test and go live: test invoices, staff training and a review after your first VAT return under e-invoicing.
Why start now
- Accounting systems and ASP connections take time to set up and test.
- Clean customer and VAT data now means fewer rejected invoices later.
- Good e-invoicing data also makes your VAT returns faster and more accurate.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
When does e-invoicing start in the UAE?
From 1 January 2027 for businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more, from 1 July 2027 for other businesses, and from 1 October 2027 for government entities, as announced by the Ministry of Finance.
What is an Accredited Service Provider?
An Accredited Service Provider (ASP) is a provider approved to exchange e-invoices between businesses and report invoice data to the Federal Tax Authority. Businesses must appoint one before their go-live date.
Does e-invoicing replace VAT returns?
No. You still file VAT returns, but your invoice data is reported electronically, so accurate invoices and VAT codes matter even more.
Will my accounting software work with e-invoicing?
Many systems, including Odoo, Xero, QuickBooks and Zoho Books, can connect to Accredited Service Providers, but the set-up varies. We check your system and data as part of the readiness review.
